To enhance the dental treatment experience for all patients at IDA certified Digital Smile Centres and to make the latest and most sophisticated treatment alternatives available to them. Digital smile designing, digital radiography, electronic prescriptions, CAD/CAM restorations, digital-based surgical guides, imaging for implant placement, and digital impressions are among the digital technologies available for dentistry.

It is important to keep in mind that the results will be close to the smile design and not always identical.

Treatment Alternatives

  • Braces are metal or porcelain brackets attached to the teeth.
  • Metal wires and elastics are then used to provide a force to help the teeth move into the correct position.
  • Aligners are made of plastic and are custom made to fit the teeth.
  • Each aligner moves the teeth step by step towards the final position.
  • Small bumps of composite resin (tooth coloured filling material) are attached to various teeth to help the aligner grip the tooth so it can be moved correctly.
  • Aligners may be preferred over braces as they are virtually invisible. They are also removable, unlike braces which are fixed.
  • There is also lesser pain involved as the technology claims that there will only be gradual and gentle yet effective teeth movement throughout the treatment, as compared to braces which may irritate and cause pain.It also reduces the number of visits to the dentist and gives a clearer picture of the treatment duration.
  • It is possible to maintain better oral hygiene when compared with braces; as aligners are removable and the teeth can be cleaned more effectively.
  • Dental veneers are custom-made shells that fit over the front surfaces of teeth.
  • They conceal cracks, chips, stains and other cosmetic imperfections.
  • It is one of the most common cosmetic dentistry treatments.
  • While dental crowns can also improve the appearance of teeth, their main purpose is to restore teeth that are badly damaged by decay or trauma.
  • A dental bridge is a permanent restoration that replaces a missing tooth or teeth.
  • Teeth bleaching is another common procedure in cosmetic dentistry.
  • It is one of the most conservative and cost-effective dental treatments for discoloured teeth than invasive methods like veneering, crowning or bonding to enhance an individual smile.
  • 3D computer guided implant placement (CGIP) including cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) provides dentists with a quick 3-D image of a patients oral or maxillofacial anatomy for surgical procedures like placing dental implants.
  • Such pre-surgical imaging techniques have made implant placement easier and more predictable, ensuring greater treatment success.
  • Following a gingivectomy, more of the teeth will be revealed, resulting in better balance between tooth length and gum line for a more pleasing smile.
